Delays in The new Smart ForTwo electric car

Automotive news Europe announced that the ForTwo electric model minicar will begin to be available by Daimler's subsidiary in 9/2012.The ForTwo which considered by the brand to be it's great launch in 2012 was scheduled to delivers months ago not the next September.Spokeswoman said that the deliveries was scheduled to begin in June but a setback with Li-Tec (It's battery cell supplier) changed their plan.

Li-Tec Found problems when it Increased production.Despite this the issues are related to the manufacturing process didn't specify.(The batteries have no quality or technical issues but the company get so serious about it's product quality.

Daimler announced that the ForTwo will be launched in 30 global markets start in spring 2012 according to a press release on 9/ 13/2011,The batteries that the third-generation electric ForTwo will use are produced by a joint venture between Daimler and Deutsche Accumotive, a German supplier Evonic. Li-Tec, the subsupplier of the battery cells, is a separate joint venture between Evonic and Daimler,The first electric Smart test fleet was launched in London 2007,about 2000 car of the second generation model which uses Tesla's batteries ,have been made since 2009.[via 4wheelsnews]
