2011 Mazda5 Side PictureThe Mazda5 is Mazda's answer to the minivan -- its smaller, sportier answer that gets better gas mileage than most minivans. Though the Mazda5 has a lot of what families need in an efficient package, Americans haven't really gotten behind the Mazda5. It is, however, a hit in Japan and the highly-similar Ford S-Max is popular in Europe. Mazda is updating the Mazda5 in hopes of capturing more of the American market. Given that the current Mazda5 costs less and uses less fuel than other minivans, the updates, which add power and style to the Mazda5, may be what's needed to put it on most families' shopping lists. At least, auto critics are pleased by what they see.
