The All-new SM7 is driven by the Nissan VQ engine. The VQ powerplant pushes through a new, six-speed automatic gearbox with a manual shift function consisting of a high-capacity torque converter. The Renault Samsung Motors All-New SM7 could be chosen with one of two engines: the 3.5 VQ (six-speed automatic gearbox with manual gearshift mode) or the 2.5 VQ (six-speed automatic gearbox with manual selector mode). Both are going to be provided with three gear levels to handle the various requirements and preferences of the model’s buyers.
The maximum power provided by the VQ25 engine is 190hp, a boost of 15 percent above the previous SM7, while peak torque holds at 243Nm at 4,400rpm. Regarding the VQ35 engine, maximum power of 258hp (up more than 20% on top of the previous SM7). Peak torque of 330Nm is developed at 4,400rpm. Fuel consumption is a minimal 10.4 litres/100km.
Prices for the All-New SM7 range between 30 to 39 million Korean won (€19,724 to 25,641), while that of the prior SM7 ranged from 28.8 to 37.7 million Korean won (€18,935 to €24,786).
