2012 SSC Tuatara
1350bhp, 2750 lbs and with a claimed top speed of 444 km/h! Hmmm…math has never sounded better. With the Ultimate Aero, SSC wanted to project it’s image as the manufacturer of the world’s fastest production car, this time around though, they claim they have built a more well rounded car. It looks like it’s come off a comic strip and it’s got carbon-fibre wheels…
[Meanwhile at the SSC dealer in Gotham City - Batman: Hi! I’m Batman. I’ll take one in black.]
2012 Aston Martin Zagato
Aston’s flagship model is fresh from the tarmac of the VLN racing series at the Nurburgring. The front fascia is familiar but the rear end and that sun burnt orange sets it apart from the humdrum Astons. This car is a celebration of the DB4GT Zagato from 50 years ago. At 330,000 pound sterling you get hand formed aluminium sheet metal and a BIG smile!
2012 Lexus LFA
I was a little disappointed how Lexus showcased their $ 380,000 loud mouth supercar. Do they even know that their first time fighter is knocking the wind out of many champs! Besides being a prolific performer, it’s exhaust note is one that mimics a fire snorting dragon…so they say.
2012 Brabus 800 Rocket
CLSs are quite common in our road-scapes that we hardly notice them, but if you see one that travels 370km/h it will definitely have your eyes popping and for that reason the 800 rocket beckons to be centre of your attention. This 800PS i.e 789horspower beast of a wagon has a ridiculous asking price of 429,000 Euros, but this my friends is the world’s fastest 4-door coupe aka saloon and that should put things in perspective.
2012 Mclaren MP4-12C
Mclaren is hell bent on doing it right or shall we say everything right and this is what they have come up with! The 592 horses will get you to a ¼ mile in 10.9 seconds (was this the 10-sec car Dominic Toretto speaks about in ‘Fast & the furious’?). How about 0 to 200km/h in 9.1 seconds, in comparison Ferrari’s halo car the $ 660,000 Enzo did it in only 9.6 seconds and the $ 440,000 Carrera GT in 9.9 seconds. If speeding is devilishly wrong, I confess … for I am about to sin.
2012 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport
The mother of all supercars is also the world’s fastest convertible in the Grand Sport trim. But I’m not sure my hair will stay on with the top down at 400 km/h. With manufacturers making examples of cars extraordinaire, speed will never go out of style.[via : automiddleeast]
